You may be right. I live in a slightly different political system to you, however, we may agree that at some level it doesn't matter who is in power because they are all politicians.
At the same time however, as is becoming more and more apparent to many people in the US, and was apparent to me when I took the photo, Bush is a puppet of the powerful men around him. They only care about money and power. People (except perhaps their own families and friends) aren't really that important to them.
These guys started a war, they have and continue to kill many innocent people by their actions. They may have god on their side, but the other side also has god on their side. The ring holder has to be very pure of heart, unfortunately, I don't think that is the case at this time.
I just feel that the TRUTH is kept very far away from our eyes.
The way I see it... If they want to kill themselves... That's just fine, no one has nothing to do with it. But they're messing with lives around the world, like mine or yours. When this started, my country provided America "Base das Lages" (Azores) where they landed their planes for gaz and things like that. I've never been so ashamed of my country. Our president tried the whole "friend" thing... Now he's the president of EU. He should know that a friend who bullies us, is no longer a friend.
To all those who think "The Americans must thus win!" Oh the irony! They obviously haven't actually digested LotR much if they think that possessing the 'ring' (or what the ring was an allegory of... ) is good.
"I want to thank my friend, Senator Bill Frist, for joining us today. You're doing a heck of a job. You cut your teeth here, right? That's where you started practicing? That's good. He married a Texas girl, I want you to know. Karyn is with us. A West Texas girl, just like me."
2. Saddam was fed by the US and had numerous back scratchings and hugs by the US and backing until he decided that he was going to attack Kuwait because of its financial policies that were costing Iraq money, occupying part of what Iraq thought of as part of Iraq (Which includes oil fields) and because it owed Kuwait money. If Iraq hadn't attacked Kuwait, Saddam would still be friends with the US. (Or at least not enemies.) The US helped Iraq during the Iran Iraq war with the thinking that 'The enemy of our enemy is our friend'-type mentality which is NOT the case. The US didn't care that he gassed the Kurds or how he was treating his people. They wanted Iraq as a docile country which they could use and exploit. I'm not some ultra leftist, this is how it IS.
3. No one likes Americas 'Do what we say or we'll kick your ass' mentality. Some Americans find that mentality funny and reassuring but remember 'NO ONE LIKES A BULLY.' Half of America at least doesn't have this attitude.
Frodo didn't lose, he was brainwashed.
And the media told him to be afraid, and that Bush would protect him from the scary bad guys. All because our country finally realized what it's like to be hated. I'm moving to Australia.
The best part is that I could go to jail for this comment. Since I'm already condemned(sp?) I might as well add that I hate George W. Bush. Oh yea baby, jail for life.
